Simple to send. Waiting whenever they are ready. Here is how a care provider reaches a patient — and how that patient reads their message, whenever they can get online.

The care provider

A care provider at a clinic needs to follow up with a patient. Here is how they do it.

1

Find the patient

Search by name. First time seeing this patient? Add them in seconds — name, birthday, and optionally a mobile number or email. No phone or email? A PIN is generated on the spot to give to the patient at their appointment.

Write the message

Plain language, simple ask. Usually just a phone number and a request to connect — the actual conversation happens at the clinic. Your organization can save message templates to make this even faster.

Send

The message is encrypted and held securely. If the patient has a mobile number or email on file, they are notified automatically with a secure single-use PIN. If not, the message waits — and the patient uses the standing PIN given to them at their appointment, whenever they find a way online.

The patient

Whenever she gets access to a device — a library computer, a borrowed phone, a drop-in centre tablet. She goes to the URL her care provider gave her.

1

The lookup screen

No app. No account. Every patient has a PIN — given to them at their appointment, or sent by text or email when their message was posted. Name and birthday confirm who they are. The PIN confirms the message is for them.

The moment Sarah reads her message — on any device, anywhere in the world — the care provider sees it in real time in their dashboard. No follow-up required to know it got through. The connection happened.

For patients with a mobile number or email

When a patient has a mobile number or email address on file, the moment a worker posts a message, Restpost automatically sends them a secure single-use PIN — by text, email, or both. They go to their org's URL, enter their name, birthday, and PIN — and read their message.

No voicemails. No patient portal login. No forgotten passwords. A text or email with a PIN — and their message is waiting.

A care provider sent a message. A patient read it — notified by text, by email, or simply whenever they next found a way online. A connection happened that wouldn't have happened otherwise.
